Alex Renuad - Chief Instructor

Alex Renuad

My name is Alex and this will be my third year of instructing and fourth year with Quinte Sailability. I look forward to my first year as chief instructor, and don't be mistaking my first day will be nerve raking but I'm up for something new. I am currently completing grade 11 at École Secondaire Marc-Garneau. When I'm not on the water you can usually find me at Batawa Ski Hill as I am also a snowboard instructor and enjoy carving down the hills. If you can't find me there it is because I am kept busy with school. I am looking forward to the summer and can't wait to get back on the water. Let's cross our fingers and hope that it will be a much dryer summer than the last ;)

Vanessa Watts - Assistant Instructor

Vanessa WattsI'm Vanessa Watts, 15 years old, and this will be my first year as an instructor. I have been sailing for 6 years and have taken sailing lessons for 4 years at both CFB Trenton and Bay of Quinte Yacht Club. I am currently in grade 10 at East Northumberland Secondary School. In the winter I spend most of my time at the ski hill. I have skied since I was 2, and I belong to the Batawa Racing Club. I also hope to become a skiing instructor. Last year was my first year at Quinte Sailability as a volunteer and I look forward to being an instructor for the next couple of years. Here's to the fun times we all had and I hope they continue.

Chelsea Dempsey

Vanessa WattsI'm Chelsea Dempsey, I'm 16 years of age and this summer will be my first with Quinte Sailability. I've just completed my grade 11 year at East Northumberland Secondary School, and looking forward to another year back. In my spare time I like hanging out with friends, reading, playing guitar and singing with my family. I attend RCSCC 79 Trent (Sea Cadet Corp) at CFB Trenton; I'm currently a Petty Officer first class and enjoy every minute i spend with my corp. I have gained amazing experiences in cadets including heading out to Greenwood NS, every summer for boatswain training, and the opportunity to sail on the Maple Leaf for a week over the past march break in Victoria and Vancouver BC. This summer will be my first summer home in the past 4 years and I am looking forward to spending it here at QS.
